ACCELERATE
Accelerate is programme designed to give students an in-depth introduction to IMC, trading, and technology through hands-on experiences and close interaction with IMC professionals.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Accelerate is a two-day immersive programme designed for high-performing penultimate- and final-year students from Dutch, Belgian, and German universities who are interested in the intersection of trading, technology, and problem-solving in financial markets.
Hosted at IMC’s Amsterdam office as part of our spring programme series in June, Accelerate offers a first-hand introduction to IMC, including our culture, teams, and the technology-driven way we approach trading.
Across two intensive days, you will take part in interactive workshops and challenges created by IMC traders and technologists. Using our in-house platforms, you will simulate real-world trading and technology scenarios while working alongside peers in dedicated Trading and Technology cohorts. This provides practical insight into how decisions are made in fast-moving markets.
Throughout the programme, you will be supported by an IMC buddy with a similar academic background. Your buddy will offer personal guidance, career advice, and insight into life at IMC, both during the programme and as you prepare for your final exams.
Participants who demonstrate strong performance will be fast-tracked into IMC’s Graduate opportunities. Accelerate serves as a key entry point into both our Trading and Technology graduate pipelines and offers a first step toward a full-time career at IMC.

THE ITINERARY
Introduction & exploration
- You’ll start with an introduction to IMC, trading, and technology, followed by interactive sessions using our in-house built platforms. Through hands-on challenges, you’ll explore how we think, collaborate, and compete.
- The day concludes in an informal setting, giving you the chance to connect with IMC traders and technologists and learn more about their day-to-day work and career paths.
Deep dives by cohort
- Trading cohort
Explore what moves the markets and how trading decisions are made. Learn how communication and teamwork play a role on the trading floor, and take part in a trading simulation where PnL matters. - Technology cohort
Explore the different technology tracks at IMC and what they mean for a career in trading technology. Put your coding skills to the test in our algorithmic optimisation challenge.
