Prosperity 3: IMC’s global trading challenge returns

Global market maker IMC today announced the return of its unique market simulation challenge, Prosperity. Dubbed ‘the world’s most elaborate trading challenge’, Prosperity invites STEM university students worldwide to test their trading skills in a virtual fantasy world.

Running April 7-22, participants will take part in five trading rounds, tackling a mix of algorithmic and manual exercises that reflect real-world trading dynamics. Players can enter solo or as part of a team, striving to out-trade the competition and chart their course to Prosperity.

“Launched in 2023, Prosperity has quickly become a standout initiative in the trading industry. Last year’s competition saw 14,243 students at more than 400 universities worldwide take part, with 96% of participants indicating they are now considering a career in trading,” said Jade Olsson, Head of Core HR at IMC. “We’re excited to welcome new and returning participants to the third edition of our fast-paced competition, which introduces fresh challenges every year designed by some of our top traders, quants, and engineers. Reaching Prosperity will require strategic thinking and fast problem-solving – just like a career at IMC.”

At the end of the competition, the team with the highest profit in Prosperity’s official currency will be crowned IMC Global Trading Talent of the Year and receive a cash prize of $25,000 USD. The remaining $25,000 prize money will be divided between participants placing 2nd to 5th in the rankings, as well as a $5,000 prize for Best Manual Trader.

STEM students currently enrolled at university can register at prosperity.imc.com. Players can compete individually or in teams of up to five. Upon registration, participants will gain access to the competition Wiki and Discord server, where they can connect with fellow contestants, engage with IMC professionals, and prepare for the competition.
