WHAT WE DO: SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEERING (SRE)
Our low-latency Linux trading environment is the foundation that IMC depends on – across global markets, and around the clock. Maintaining it demands not only technical excellence, but also speed, sharp judgement, and the ability to act decisively under pressure.
Our site reliability engineering team maintains and maximises our full stack, from live trading infrastructure to automation that allows it to perform seamlessly at scale. Acting as partners to developers and traders, they provide the stability that keeps IMC’s edge sharp.
BUILD FOR OUR FUTURE
Sitting at the intersection of software engineering and DevOps, our Site Reliability Engineers have two core responsibilities.
The first is tactical: when something goes wrong – a hardware failure, a network issue, an unexpected outage minutes before market open – they respond, triage, and get IMC back online.
The second is strategic: they build the tooling, automation, and AI-powered infrastructure that prevents those incidents from happening in the first place. After all, in trading, every fraction of a second counts.
OWN THE BIG PICTURE
This isn't a team that supports one small corner of the stack. IMC's SRE team owns the full, global software stack. They look at the big picture, making sure that every desk, every market, and every system is working smoothly.
And the impact isn’t localised to one market. When a Sydney SRE builds something that solves a problem, it gets adopted across our offices globally.
Unlike at big tech firms, where SRE teams can become bottlenecks with long checklists and processes, our SREs work as partners with developers and traders to keep things moving without sacrificing stability.
