About the IMC internships
Our 10-week trading, quantitative research and engineering internships are designed for ambitious, high-performing STEM majors, or those with a finance or computer science background, or equivalent. You’ll hone your skills and work on real-life challenges.
Under the guidance of experienced IMC professionals, you’ll be challenged and embark on a steep learning curve during classroom training and project work. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to share your ideas and experience in IMC’s fast-paced environment.
Whether you're interested in joining our trading, quantitative research and engineering streams, no prior knowledge of, or experience in, financial markets is required.

You’ll tackle complex problems that matter in real time.
- Academic focus: mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer Science, physics, or a related STEM field
- You stand out if: You are technical, think logically, enjoy modelling data, and love solving unstructured problems
- Requirements: High Distinction (or equivalent), Australian working rights, penultimate year preferred
No prior trading experience is required. We care about your ability to learn and apply logic under uncertainty.
Our Technology teams build the systems that power global markets.
- Academic focus: computer science, software engineering, engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Skills: Strong programming (C++, Java or Python) and engineering fundamentals
- You stand out if: You enjoy designing and shipping software, care about code quality, and think deeply about scaling and performance
- Requirements: High Distinction (or equivalent), Australian working rights, penultimate year of study
